A Panel Discussion on Hemorrhagic Fever in Iraq: Reality, Challenges, and Solutions

 On Wednesday morning, May 21, 2025, the Desert Studies Center at Anbar University organized a scientific panel discussion titled "Hemorrhagic Fever in Iraq: Reality, Challenges, and Solutions." The panel was held in the center's central hall as part of a series of awareness seminars held by the center to address health issues with an environmental dimension. The panel was presented by Professor Dr. Suad Shalal Shahada, Head of the Desert Development Department, who provided a detailed explanation of hemorrhagic fever, highlighting several key aspects, including:
Types of hemorrhagic fever, history of its emergence, methods of transmission, viral reservoirs, disease mechanism, clinical symptoms, and methods of diagnosis and prevention. The professor also presented statistics on infections across Iraq and highlighted the important aspect of how to handle meat to avoid infection.
