On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Center of Desert Studies at University of Anbar organized a panel discussion titled:
"Chemical Fertilizers: Their Pros and Cons." The panel was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Farhan Musleh, as part of a series of scientific and awareness-raising activities organized by the Desert Studies Center.
The panel was attended by the Center's Director, Professor Dr. Nihad Mohammad Abod, and a number of researchers. The panel addressed several topics, including an introduction to the different types of chemical fertilizers and their applications in modern agriculture, the role of fertilizers in improving agricultural productivity and increasing plant growth, and the negative environmental impacts resulting from the excessive or uncontrolled use of chemical fertilizers, such as soil and water pollution. It also included a comparison between chemical fertilizers and organic alternatives in terms of environmental impact and economic feasibility.
