Conservation Agriculture: The First Line of Defense Against Desertification
Under the guidance of the Director of the Center for Desert Studies, Prof. Dr. Nihad Mohammed Abboud, and under the supervision of the Head of the Conservation Agriculture Department, Asst. Dr. Mohammed Ismail Khalaf, the department's researchers conducted a field awareness activity at the University of Anbar and the University of Maaref entitled:

in celebration of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought.
The World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, observed annually on June 17, is a global occasion celebrated by nations to raise awareness of the importance of protecting drylands and the sustainable fight against desertification and drought. This day aims to raise public awareness and encourage action to mitigate this global problem.
Scientific brochures were distributed, including concepts related to the spread of desertification, and seeds of drought-tolerant plants were distributed.
