Field Visit to the Areas Surrounding Lake Haditha

As part of the University of Anbar's ongoing commitment, particularly through the Desert Studies Center, to conducting applied scientific studies and research in the fields of combating desertification and climate change, and under the guidance of the esteemed President of the University of Anbar, Professor Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, and the supervision of the Center's Director, Professor Nihad Mohammed Abboud, a specialized research team from the Desert Studies Center completed a comprehensive study of the areas surrounding Lake Haditha. Led by Professor Abdul Karim Ahmed Al-Alwani, Professor Ali Hussein Ibrahim Al-Bayati, and Dr. Hussam Naji Mukhlef, the team focused on assessing the land resources around the Haditha Dam Lake in the western Iraqi desert on the Euphrates. The study aimed to support comprehensive sustainable development by preparing detailed reports on the region's geology, topography, and climate, as well as identifying areas suitable for agricultural development, the establishment of nature reserves, and tourist resorts.

The Mayor of Haditha, Engineer Abbas Hussein Farhan, welcomed the research team, who expressed the local government's full support and willingness to provide all necessary facilities for the success of the research efforts.

We commend the outstanding work of the research team and extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for their valuable contribution.
